Soccer is a high intensity sport with a high risk of injury given the wide range of player ability, frequent changes of speed, movement and direction, and regular collisions.
Any training day lost to injury is a day not dedicated toward your soccer development!
Box to Box Soccer will provide information to players to determine if they are at risk, how players are injured, common injuries that occur (including concussions), management of injuries and preventative tips.
• On-line or in-person one hour tutorial
• Digital or printed reference materials
• Contact information for recommended professionals specializing in injury prevention or treatment if further consultation is desired or required
**For an additional fee, Box to Box Soccer can also arrange for Functional Movement Screening (FMS) through one of its physiotherapist partners.
FMS is a screening tool used to evaluate seven fundamental movement patterns in players to demonstrate opportunities for improved movement. Even though players are performing a sport at a high level, it has been observed that many of these same individuals are limited in fundamental movement, which can lead to the use of compensatory movements in order to achieve or maintain the level of performance needed for the activity. The inefficient use of compensation during movement will lead to poor biomechanics that limit gains in performance or that could be a risk to injury in the player. Corrective exercises can be prescribed to improve movement.
